Dan Katsikas is a co-founder of Tensile Capital Management, and serves as its Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer.
Prior to Tensile, from 2007 to 2012, Dan was the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and a Managing Director of J.C. Flowers & Co. LLC, a global private equity firm with approximately $8 billion of assets under management. At J.C. Flowers, Dan was responsible for the global finance function, including firm and fund level accounting, cash management, financial and management reporting and financial planning, as well as the firm’s operations. He also served on the Investment Committee and Operating Committee during his tenure at J.C. Flowers.
From 2004 to 2007, Dan was a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, a middle-market private equity firm with approximately $4 billion of assets under management. Bear Stearns Merchant Banking was the private equity affiliate of the Bear Stearns Companies, Inc.
Prior to Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Trivest Partners, L.P. and prior to that, spent nine years in public accounting at Kaufman, Rossin & Co., where he represented several private equity and hedge funds.
He received a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Florida in 1991 and passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination in 1993.
